    Founded in 1990, the PLSG was the first of its kind in Canada. It is a volunteer run non-profit society. Deborah is a counselor with a Masters Degree in Education and she is a professional Canadian Certified Counselor. She provides general counseling and is experienced in providing support for adults living with Multiple Sclerosis (chronic illness) and disordered eating. She also offers supportive counseling before and after the loss of a companion animal, grief counseling, and bereavement counseling. Her clients may also be experiencing one or more issues, including those related to marriage, career, bereavement, cognitive and physical disabilities, peer pressure, low self-esteem, and poor body image. Anne Mulders has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology; is a Certified Trauma Specialist. Anne has over 20 years of counseling experience, and specializes in grief support and education. She is also a member of The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Often people who lose a pet must defend themselves against insensitivities which don't normally occur with human loss. Anne assists people in finding their way through the grieving process by offering a comfortable and safe environment, unconditional acceptance, and validation of feelings. Her compassion and understanding help facilitate recovery. She offers support before and after the loss of a companion animal, grief and bereavement counseling and presence during euthanasia. Anne offers individual counseling for both adults and children. She also works with families, groups, and couples.
